Our opening hours…
We are open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.
We are open for 50 weeks a year, and closed for 2 weeks over the Christmas period. We are closed on bank holidays.
We are located…
Little Learners Nursery at St Mary’s is located on Brooke Road which is a short walk to Wood Street Station (trains to Liverpool Street Station in 15 minutes). The nursery rents space from St Mary’s C of E Primary School, allowing us access to the schools amenities.

Our provision…
We cater for children between the ages of 12 months to 4 years. Younger babies (Bunnies) will enjoy a caring, comforting, ‘home from home’ environment, with gentle activity, while toddlers (Tigers) will enjoy a wide range of well-planned nursery activities designed to encourage growth and development. We work with our pre-school (Panda) children to give them a head start in learning and equip them with the beginnings of academic confidence required for later school success.
Our team…
Our Nursery team comprises of a blend of experienced and professionally qualified staff; teachers, EYFS practitioners and trainees working towards their qualifications. All staff are skilled in expertly guiding your child through the wonders of learning whilst playing. Our staff are dedicated to treating your child with patience, affection, enthusiasm and understanding. All staff participate in ongoing training to constantly progress their own skills and abilities. Our staff will maintain development records for each child which will show the progress made during their time with us. These records are available for parents to look through and discuss with staff at any time. Our staff typically work 8am to 6pm – four days a week. This means your child’s care is not ‘handed over’ to another practitioner mid-way through the day.
Our Nursery rooms…
Each of the Nursery rooms are generously proportioned, carefully planned and extensively resourced to create inspiring learning environments in which children can grow and learn with confidence. Each room has access to outdoor play areas offering regular outdoor learning opportunities across all areas of the curriculum.
Our commitment to parental involvement…
We are fully committed to a partnership approach with parents. The needs of each child are discussed in full, prior to admission and on an ongoing basis. Parents are encouraged to discuss their child’s day with their key worker and individual development records are available at all times for parents to view. In the baby and toddler rooms communication books are sent home, notifying parents of any pertinent information. The communication books also record the children’s eating, sleeping and toileting habits for that day. All our policies are available in printed form from the foyer of the nursery, including Complaints, Child Protection and Safeguarding, and Parents and Carers as Partners. As a parent you will also receive newsletters and regular updates on the parents’ notice board which is displayed within the nursery. We also hold parents’ evenings for each room, where you will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s development. Additionally, we host Wine and Cheese evenings for parents as well as a Parent Forum.
